BPEL is evolving into a key standard for describing both human and computer processes. It was originally conceived by the OASIS Web standards industry group as a language for specifying interactions with Web services. In order to manage human processes, organizations had to turn to other tools built on top of the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) developed by the Object Management Group. Both of these efforts have converged to some extent with the release of BPMN 2.0, which defines BPEL as an underlying format for storing information.
Welcome to BPEL XML.org.
This is the official community gathering place and information resource for the WS-BPEL OASIS Standard and related specifications. BPEL uses Web services standards to describe business process activities as Web services, defining how they can be composed to accomplish specific tasks. This is a community-driven site, and the public is encouraged to contribute content.

Differences between BPEL and WS-BPEL
Hello,
I am interested to know if there is any difference between BPEL and WS-BPEL. Am I able to modell general processes or only Web services with WS-BPEL?
Thanks in advance!
