Banco Ficohsa selects T24 to improve its customer experience

Temenos, the global provider of integrated core banking systems, today announced that Banco Ficohsa, one of the largest banks in Honduras, has selected TEMENOS T24 (T24) to support its retail and corporate banking operations, servicing 650,000 accounts across 88 branches in Honduras and the United States. Banco Ficohsa signed the deal in December 2008, making it the first privately owned commercial bank in Central America to implement T24.

Sun realigns software around GlassFish

Over the past four years, Sun Microsystems has recast itself as a company focused on open source. With open-source Java, Solaris, NetBeans and application server GlassFish, the company has come up with a product lineup to support that claim. Today, Sun expanded its open-source offerings even further by releasing four GlassFish-focused products based on popular open-source software.

WSO2 offers open source, componentized SOA

Open source SOA vendor WSO2 on Monday will debut a componentized framework for SOA based on OSGi, with the intent of letting user sites assemble just what they need for their own deployments without having to carry excess software. Called Carbon, the framework will first be featured in upgrades to the company's enterprise service bus, application server, and registry as well as in a new business process management product. Developers can deploy needed components and eliminate complexities of middleware integration, according to WSO2.
