WHAT: Dr. Michael Rowley, Active Endpoints’ chief technology officer, will deliver a talk on Service Component Architecture drawn from his new book Understanding SCA (Service Component Architecture).
WHEN: Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 12pm PDT
WHERE: UCLA Academic Technology Services, 5308 Math Sciences Building, Los Angeles, CA
RSVP: Register online at http://www.ats.ucla.edu/cfapps/events/rsvp/RSVPNow.cfm?EveID=2967&SecID=2960
WHO: Java developers, business analysts, managers and executives who are interested learning why SCA is “resume worthy” and how SCA will promote application portability.
WHY: Today, developers who want to create composite applications built from reusable parts have to overcome serious technological challenges. Developers are faced with a bewildering array of application development piece parts they must learn and combine in order to create new applications. This complexity and a desire to promote reuse of existing services led a group of leading application development companies to develop the original Service Component Architecture (SCA) specifications. In his presentation, Rowley will show how SCA makes it easier to build systems from interconnected, heterogeneous, and widely-distributed parts, radically simplifying the development and delivery of service-based applications.
