InfoQ Interviews BPEL4People Representatives

Since before it was first announced that BPEL4People/WS-HumanTask were heading for a standards body, there has been a lot of interest around this new attempt to provide a standard in BPM. BPEL (aka WS-BPEL) has continued to split the workflow community, so isn't this the same fate for BPEL4People? Well the technical committee has had its first face-to-face meeting, so we took the opportunity to talk with several of the people behind the work.

Costa Rican bank selects BPEL-compliant system

TEMENOS Group (SWX: TEMN), the provider of integrated core banking systems, today announced that Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal (Banco Popular), one of the largest retail banks in Costa Rica, has selected TEMENOS T24 (T24) to replace its core banking platform. T24 will support the Bank's critical credit, deposits and client relationships business, servicing 120 branches and 1.5 million customer accounts.

Strengthening the Alliance Between Java EE and SCA

The Open SOA collaboration has just published a 0.9 draft of the SCA Java EE Integration specification. This specification defines the integration of SCA and Java EE within the context of a Java EE application, the use of Java EE components as service component implementations, and the deployment of Java EE archives either within or as SCA contributions.

Online real estate SOA moves into BPEL

SOA and BPEL are being used to tie together vertical real estate applications at Move Inc., an online service for everything from home buying and renting to the logistics of relocating.

Through mergers and acquisitions, the online service has brought together websites for customers looking for existing home sales, new homes, rentals and senior housing as well as support services such as arranging a move. "Our company is focused on the real estate business and anything to do with it," said Mike Remedios, CTO at Move Inc.
