CTO Tuesdays, 3/16: How BPMSs support long-running transactions

Please join Active Endpoints CTO Michael Rowley for a special edition of "CTO Tuesdays," his free, weekly, 30-minute technical talk on Tuesday, March 16 at 12pm EDT / 9am PDT / 16:00 GMT. Register: http://www.activevos.com/ctot

In the second of two "CTO Tuesdays" dedicated to exploring how business process management suites (BPMSs) manage processes, Rowley discusses the importance of ensuring that a set of activities either all complete or if any of them fails, then it should be as if none of them occurred. Traditionally this kind of guarantee has been achieved by using transaction systems, but business transactions last days or weeks, so traditional transaction management systems can’t be used.

This talk will describe how business processes can be created which support long running business transactions by undoing the early work in a transaction if something later in the transaction fails.
