Editorial Board Members

Mark Ford is Director of Research and Development for Active Endpoints, and a recognized contributor to industry efforts to drive advancements in standards for composite application development. As a representative of Active Endpoints, Mark has helped create an innovative and category-defining service orchestration platform while editing the WS-BPEL 2.0 specification and contributing to the WS-Human Task and WS-BPEL4People specifications as one of 18 authors. Prior to joining Active Endpoints, Mark was Director and Chief Architect for Quelsys, an e-learning company acquired by Outstart in 2004, which provided tools for the creation, execution and management of standards-compliant training modules. A programmer himself for more than a decade, Mark also has served as a research engineer at MECA Software working on personal financial management applications as well as having created award winning educational software at Gale Publishing. Mark holds a BA in philosophy from Boston University.

Bernd Eckenfels is Chief Architect (R&D) at SEEBURGER AG. A member of the OASIS WS-BEL and BPEL4People TC. With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry he still finds new and noteworthy technologies and architectural styles. One responsibility at the B2B Integration vendor is defining product requirements. His regular consulting engagements in Pre-Sales and Key Account projects help him to stay close to the market.
